A. Covid-19 SYMPTOMS / PCR / ISOLATION AND QUARANTINE:

Individuals with COVID-19 have reported a wide range of symptoms including fever or chills, cough, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body ache, headache, loss of taste or small, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, have a PCR done as soon as possible and stay home until you get the results. Please send a copy of the result to the Health and Safety Officer at Juliet.madrid@ipsjumeira.com

Students are not to be sent to school if they are unwell, even if they are sitting an exam. All symptomatic students need to do a PCR test. If PCR is negative, students need to stay at home until they are asymptomatic for at least 24 hours. If PCR is positive, students will need to complete 10 days isolation. Day one of isolation will be the date of the test.

Students with positive PCR need to isolate for 10 days starting from the test date. Email the PCR result to the HSO (Health and Safety Officer) at Juliet.madrid@ipsjumeira.com. Student must be symptoms free before returning to school. There is no need to do a PCR at the end of the isolation period. Your child needs to obtain a de-isolation certificate from the DHA. If there is a delay in getting the certificate, student must show a negative PCR before returning to school.

If you are identified as a close contact of someone who tested positive, it is critical that you stay home. The quarantine period starts from the day of your last exposure to the confirmed case. A close contact must complete 7 days in quarantine. After finishing the 7 days quarantine, the student MUST email a negative PCR (within 48 hours) to the Health and Safety Officer at Juliet.madrid@ipsjumeira.com to be able to rejoin the Face-to-face classes.

Students who just finished their isolation period do not need to quarantine if one of the family members is positive.
